Denver Broncos UK
A really cool event is happening at the Mattress Factory at the end of this month; not only does it showcase the incredible talents of the Denver Broncos UK but Slim, (one of the band members) was cool enough to let me work on their poster for the event. Here's one of the versions in the running. Will my horse phase ever pass??

Pittsburgh Observations...
I went for a run yesterday..and found a route near the Mattress Factory that leads down, past the Warhol Museum and across the Allegheny. I couldn't help but think that a while back ago, at my other job, I would run alongside the Monongahela; and that even a little bit farther back ago, I didn't even know these two rivers existed.
The yellow Warhol bridge that runs across the river is quite beautiful, in that old, almost suspension bridge looking like way (but isn't suspension); and that river is quite pretty, as it butts up against the ball park. I felt a sense of pride...for the first time, I think, about a city. Like it was MY city. I've always loved Portland and Seattle; but it's sort of a given why they're popular and loved; nature has blessed them with locations and mild temps and oceans and mountains. Pittsburgh has to work at it. It had to pull itself out of a giant slump, both environmentally & economically. I find that I stick up for Pittsburgh. I become protective about it. If someone wears a Red Wings jersey in the Strip, I can't help but give them dirty looks. I will always and forever be a Pirates fan now. It's not just sports, either...people treat people pretty decent here. On many occasion, I've seen great acts of human kindness here...and I've even thought to myself 'oh, if I get a flat, some nice Pittsburgher will help me out...' and that's probably true. Not to say that the west coast isn't full of helpful kind people (in fact there's a small handful that are pretty much the best people in the world..) But you know what I mean...
Enough of the Pittsburgh Soap Box...
Back to silly posts about dressers and whatnot. :)

Bedrooms & Qatar...
Mark left for Qatar last night...I believe he's still en route, as it takes 13 hours to get there from DC...it was a quiet night last night, as I started moving all the bookshelves into the new guest room (the wall of books looks pretty nice!) Next project is our bedroom...
I'm checking out this dresser tonight...

and i think i'm painting the room a dark gray...white moldings...and how bout this dresser in either a bright yellow? or apple green? or what about a super turquoise?
I assume I would sand this piece of furniture...would I need to strip it? what does stripping entail (hardy har...i'm SERIOUS)...

2009 Urban Garden Party at The Mattress Factory
The big fundraiser at The Mattress Factory was a huge success..and as far as I know, no one fell into any sculptures, or tripped in the fountain that runs thru the outside rock garden.

Lindsay models the Staff Backstage Pass, created by yours truly.
Cheers to Slim for getting the cable feed to work in the basement, so we could watch the Penguins win the Stanley Cup!
