Garden Update - May

As promised to my mother-in-law, here's the first garden update...! new seedlings were planted in our garden AND our neighbor's plot, who generously donated their land to our gardening obsession. Eggplants, tomatillos, tomatoes, basil, parsley, lots of hot chilis, and ONE giant pumpkin from a friend's seed stash.

Oh, and Roger & Marianne, I saw the bunny you spied last night! we had a long talk about NOT eating my new plants.


One of 5 tomato plants. this year i will NOT use the lawn furniture as supports for my plants. i will be proactive.


Peonies! can't wait. seriously can't wait.

Looks like spring has hit Pittsburgh long before Portland. The flowering trees and spring bulbs are putting on a good show here but the ground is too cold and wet to plant. May have to wait a week or so before we start our garden. Glad all the Thompsons had a good weekend.
