pittsburgh's growing...

yesterday, i got into our car, after my 7th day at work, in hopes to check out the South Side's farmers markets...it had been raining heavily, but sure enough, a few trucks were in the bank's parking lot...there were beautiful tomatoes, potatoes, beets and peppers..and, once again, people were more than friendly...true, genuine people, excited that i could be coerced into an additional cabbage (we can talk about my coleslaw addiction later)...did i want to purchase some fresh peroghies from the back of a ford escort? why, yes...i would...

then, driving home..i thought about how fast things happen..i was a commuter...hitting the weekly farmers market..watching the trees turn from green to autumn colors..it was a good day. and while i have pangs for friends and family (thanks to all who have emailed or checked in..it means the world.), i'm starting to really like pittsburgh. i like the old buildings. the odd bars that seem to stay in business. the fish sandwiches at armand's, where the russian woman worried that i didn't order enough food.

it's ok here...having someone cook enchiladas for you doesn't hurt either.
