New Orleans

Mark and I went to New Orleans for a few days, as our christmas present to each other. We had a great time and enjoyed the 70 degree weather...short sleeves in january? sweet.

Jackson Square with thunderstorm looming. Umbrella in suitcase back at hotel. Sweet!

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, a bar built in the late 1700s and was once frequented by REAL pirates.

After a stint on Frenchman Avenue (highly recommend) we ventured to the Royal Street Inn & Bar. Haircuts on Mondays!

Old cemetery near our hotel. Marie Laveau buried here.

Muffaletta sandwich from Central Grocery. One of two eaten in an 10 hour period.

Cable car ride to the Garden District.

Funny sign. Always good to see how your sign might look from the sidewalk.

My obsession with all the iron work in the french quarter begins.

Purple Voodoo drink that made my teeth hurt.

Mark says 'mmm. grapey!'

Brian says "New Orleans was made for Mark and Shannon" or maybe you made for it! Fun pics! It looks like a great time! I love long weekend trips like that!
