what a weekend. after some MAJOR issues, my computer is back up and running, thank goodness. special shout out to the peeps at the apple store in shadyside, who not only helped me carry my CPU into the store, but told me hints on how to fix stuff, before buying the expensive software AND to my brother, who always seems to calm me down when computer issues come up.
saturday, mark and i feasted on Bo Ssam, a korean lettuce wrap that we saw on No Reservations...(see link for much better food photography, courtesy of martha stewart)
it's basically a pork shoulder, slow roasted, topped with a raw oyster, kimchi and some korean chili paste. it was freakin' delicious. I couldn't stop talking about how much i enjoy things wrapped in lettuce. it's like nature's tortilla. so fresh...the pork, nice and salty...the kimchi was great...and mark added a green onion oil as one of the sauce selections, that we both can't stop snacking on.
Mark slips an oyster off the shell, into the lettuce wrap.

I don't think Mark should use his finger on that oyster! I am sure there is an expensive utensil you can buy to slide a oyster onto pulled pork. Keep the recipe handly so we can sample it on our next visit to Pitt.
